Come Fly With Me II
Watching hummingbirds in flight is a magical experience, especially when they encounter another hummingbird. They will both hover and gaze at each other for a few moments…before darting away in a burst of speed. The brief interlude of that encounter inspired this piece…and reminded me of the Frank Sinatra classic “Come Fly with Me”.
Flight is a metaphor for joy. This painting is an invitation to share that joy…and a magical journey with someone special. In those special moments, everything around us is a blur. Time itself seems to stand still. That is the sensation that this painting is meant to convey.
Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away!
