Golden Rhapsody
rhap·so·dy ['rapsədē]
noun
1. an effusively enthusiastic or ecstatic expression of feeling: "rhapsodies of praise"
I've always loved classical chiaroscuro floral still life paintings, so I thought I would create one that was...a bit more lively! Instead of a still life with flowers in a vase, I've painted these poppies as if they are bursting forth from the ground. The flowers themselves are in this not-so-still life are also slighly windswept - anyone who's tried photographing flowers in the wild knows they are rarely "still". As soon as you prepare to capture your subject, a breeze will appear from nowhere - causing the flower to gyrate wildly.
