Tulip Fever
The title of this painting was inspired by the "Tulip Fever" or "Tulip Mania" that gripped the Dutch Republic in 1637. This piece features yellow tulips with a pair of male and female flame skimmer dragonflies. Flame skimmers are a common dragonfly native to western North America.
