    • Free as a Bird Quadriptych

    The Hummingbirds in my backyard are very territorial; they are always competing for the feeders. This is why I decided to paint them on individual canvases. These pieces feature them hovering in flight in the moments before darting away in a burst of speed. Flight is a metaphor for joy and freedom. These paintings are an invitation to share that joy, where time itself seems to stand still.
